What is the Purpose of This Website?
The purpose of this website is to act as a main source of information for Grover Cleveland High School (Reseda, California), Class of 1965 (GCHS65) former students. Although it will also be involved in organizing events (parties, reunions, etc.) for GCHS65 people, it's primary purpose is to act as a communications and social gathering center for GCHS65.
How Does It Differ From Facebook, Instagram and Google+ Pages for Graduated Classes?
A lot of people are not members of Facebook (or Google+) for a variety of reasons (security, trust issues, etc), so we felt that a totally individual website, that anyone on the web could access, would be more useful for our friends and classmates.
How Does This Differ from Commercial Websites Like Classmates.Com and Others?
The keyword is "commercial". We are non-commercial and NOT owned and operated by a big, profit-taking corporation. This website is totally owned and operated by members of the GCHS Class of 1965...we will never ask for membership fees or any fees for use or contributing to this website. It will always be free to our fellow GCHS65 friends.
Will This Website Disappear After the 2015 50-Year Event?
No. This is meant to be a permanent website, for use as a contact source/social medium by our fellow GCHS65 friends and classmates. It will extend well beyond that event.
How Can I Submit Photos or Written Content to This Website? Is it Like Facebook in that Regard?
We wanted to make it easy for you to add your content (photos, life Stories, comments, etc), so we have a number of areas inside the website that ask directly for your contributions. Short of that...and the easiest of all...simply e-mail your photos or written content to our webmaster (Pete Senoff / petesenoff@earthlink.net) and he will add it for you. It also ensures that we can help increase the visual quality of your photos and help with proofreading and copyreading of your content.
If I Want To Submit Photos, What Are Your Technical Requirements?
The easiest way is to submit your photos as electronic images (jpegs are preferable) directly via e-mail to Pete Senoff, our webmaster. If you have problems with doing that via your computer system, you can mail your hard copy photos to Pete. He will scan them to create electronic images and then promptly and safely send them back to you. For details on this, e-mail Pete directly (petesenoff@earthlink.net).
I Want to Submit My Story About My Life, But I Don't Know If I Have That Much To Talk About and I'm Not A Great Writer. What Should I Do?
Your friends and classmates are just interested in what you have been doing since graduation. You don't have to write the great American novel. If you look at some of the Stories on our website already, there are some long ones and some very short stories. Write from your heart and just tell us a little about your career, your family, your vacations...whatever best describes the years since 1965 graduation. We'll even help you with the writing, if you like. Send your Story or your notes to petesenoff@earthlink.net.
